Watercolor illustrations, love and joy!

Author/ artist/ musician Cynthia Wildridge began formal music studies at the age of 7, and majored in piano, flute, and vocal performance at Miami of Ohio following a year at Harlaxton College in England (originally known as "Stanford in Britain").  She continued her studies in music, business, sociology, psychology, and education at Indiana University (Bloomington), and later at the University of North Texas (Denton). She received the Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française from the French Ministry of Education in 2001, the Diplôme de Français Professionnel Affaires C1, mentions très bien from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Paris (CCIP) in 2009, and has spent several months living in France.

Bilingual in French, Ms. Wildridge worked in the managment of French subsidiaries in the U.S. for 7 1/2 years prior to founding Streamlining, Incorporated, a management consulting practice. In addition to her consulting work and artistic endeavors, she is frequently engaged as a freelance copywriter, voice-over artist, EFL and French tutor, and translator.  A member of the French-American Chamber of Commerce since 1995, Ms. Wildridge serves on the Board of the Dallas Opera Guild as Publications Chair, among other volunteer activities.

Recipient of several musical and academic awards and honors, Ms. Wildridge has performed privately for the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, and Sir John Wedgwood, among others. She holds copyrights and trademarks in the United States, Canada, and the European Union. This is her first children’s book.

In addition to her niece Alyssa, she has another niece and 7 nephews, each of whom is musically and artistically talented in his own right. They are also good students and athletes!

Artist Alyssa A. Wildridge was only 10 years old when she created illustrations for Bun E. Learns to Count in French / Bun E. apprend à compter, several of which were done at the public library near her home.
Now 12 years old, Miss Wildridge is a good student, in EXCEL classes at her school. Not surprisingly, her favorite subject is art; she especially loves to draw cats. Her own kitty, Starlette, served as model for the cat used to illustrate the concept of the number "4" in the book.
She loved working with her aunt on this book to help children learn French, and hopes to visit France one day.

Knowing how a sheet of paper folds to make a picture book is a true art. Catherine Dousset of Catleya Editions is widely known as "la reine de pliage."
